This weekend retreat is a perfect way to unwind, be nourished, learn about mindfulness and take a break from your devices. Not only will you be able to relax and experience a weekend of mindfulness but you will also be empowered to integrate these practices and tools into your homelife.
You will be guided through meditations, yoga and a variety of workshops such as Mindful Self-Compassion, Sustainable Living and Yin Yoga. Your meals will be DELICIOUS, made with 100% plant-based organic produce and cooked with a whole lot of love. We will also be having a Digital Detox so that you can take a break from the online world.
Our purpose is to inspire and teach you about the importance of mindfulness in the healing of our hearts, minds and our earth. We want to give you the opportunity to embody this, experience it and take home tools to practice daily. This retreat is for anyone, male or female, that is interested in mindful living. No matter how experienced you are, there will be wisdom to be found at this retreat.
Retreat Leader & Meditation Teacher - Ursula Griffen
Ursula is the Founder of For You Workshops and trained ecologist & environmental communicator. During this retreat Ursula will be your go-to-gal for anything, from wisdom to logistics. She will be leading daily meditations during retreat and facilitating a 'Sustainable Living' workshop. Connecting you to your environment and giving you eco-friendly tools to integrate into your home life. She has a deep understanding of the interconnectedness of humans and our natural world and is passionate about reconnecting people to their innate nature and fullest lives.
Mindfulness Teacher - Charlotte Ritchie
Charlotte is a trained mindfulness teacher. Her most recent training is in a practice called Making Friends with Yourself. This is a interdisciplinary approach of contemplation for adults and teens designed to cultivate self-worth and empowerment. Charlotte will lead us through an Introduction to mindfulness and then guide us through some experiential activities to learn about compassion and self-worth.
Conscious Cook & Naturopath - Emma Gibson
Emma is a trained Naturopath & Medical Herbalist. Her ethos is about aligning body and being with the wisdom of nature. She has a deep fascination in the mind, body, and the multidimensional nature of health and wellbeing. She is passionate about empowering individuals to reconnect to the wisdom of their body, being, and to nature.
Emma combines nutritional and herbal medicine, naturopathic philosophy, and lifestyle modification with client education and empowerment to gently guide individuals to a positive and balanced state of mind, body, and spirit. She holds warm, grounded, and nourishing space to explore self and experience true wellness.
Yoga Teacher - Buster Caitcheon
Buster Caitcheon is a young New Zealand based folk and soul musician, yoga instructor and environmentalist. Hailing from the stunning shores of Waiheke Island, Buster has an infectious infatuation with life itself – which he pours into his sound in the form of live looped percussion and colourfully layered vocal harmonies. He also holds a deep rooted passion for protecting mother earth and her collective inhabitants, and this sets the theme for a great deal of his emotive lyrics.
Through the avenue of teaching yoga, Buster’s primary drive is to create space, and to extend the invitation to turn inwards. Trained at The Practice in Canggu, Bali, Buster teaches both yin yoga and traditional tantric hatha. Having recently discovered how to fuse his two passions, he has spent the last three years co-creating live music serenaded yin yoga classes with an array of accredited teachers across NZ, Australia and Bali.
Tree Heart Lodge in Hunua is nestled into the bush backing onto the Hunua regional park. The space here is perfect for genuine connection and team building. It is surrounded by native bush and has a beautiful view. Accomodation will be in a shared room, you will have your own single bed (see this link for more).
This retreat is fully catered with 100% plant-based meals. It is seasonal and organically sourced as much as possible. The food is intended to nourish you, giving you nutrience and making you feel light and amazing. Emma makes amazing kai.
